About JSON Formatter
JSON from an API arrives as one unbroken line that no human can read, and a single missing comma stops it parsing with an error that names a character position rather than a problem. This indents it properly, or squashes it back to one line, and points at exactly where a syntax error is.
Good to know
- The error message gives the position of the problem, which is usually a stray comma or an unclosed bracket.
- Minifying strips whitespace for transmission; formatting adds it back for reading.

Questions
My JSON will not parse. How do I find the problem?
The tool reports where parsing failed. The cause is usually just before that point: a trailing comma, a missing quote or an unclosed bracket.
Is it safe to paste JSON with secrets in it?
Here, yes, because it is processed in your browser and never transmitted.
What is minifying for?
Removing whitespace makes the file smaller to send. It has no effect on the data itself.
Does it change the order of keys?
No. Keys stay in the order they appeared.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
