Good to know
- Because pages are re-rendered, selectable text becomes part of the image. Keep the original if you need to search or copy from it.
- Scanned documents shrink dramatically. A PDF that is mostly text created digitally has less to give.
- If a minimum size is also specified, set both ends and the result lands between them.

Why can I no longer select the text?
Reaching an exact size means re-rendering pages as images, and an image has no text layer. Keep your original, or run PDF to Text first if you need the words.
How small can a PDF go?
Scanned pages can usually reach 100 to 200 KB and stay readable. Pushing far below that makes small print hard to read.
