About Crop Image

Sometimes the problem is not the size of the file but what is inside it: a distracting background, a crooked edge, a face lost in a wide shot. Drag and zoom until the frame holds what you want, and the tool exports precisely that region at full quality.

Good to know

  • Cropping does not touch the area you keep beyond saving it, so it stays as sharp as the original.
  • For exam photos, crop to head and shoulders before resizing. Getting the framing right first avoids a squashed result.
  • If you also need an exact output size, crop here and then run Resize Image.

Questions

Can I crop to an exact pixel size?

Crop to the region you want here, then set exact dimensions with Resize Image. That order preserves the framing you chose.

Can I recover the rest of the picture later?

Not from the exported file. Keep your original if you might want a different crop.

Can I straighten a tilted photo?

Not here, since cropping does not rotate. Rotate & Flip Image handles quarter turns.

Does cropping make the file smaller?

Generally yes, because fewer pixels are stored, though the exact size depends on what you kept.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs inside your browser using your own device. Your file never leaves it, and we never see or store it. You can even disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no daily limit, no watermark on your files. The site is paid for by ads.
