About YouTube Description Generator
Only the first line or two of a description shows before "more", and most viewers never open it. So the opening has to say what the viewer gets, and everything else is for people who already care. Give your rough notes and you get a description built that way round.
Good to know
- The first two sentences do nearly all the work. Put the point there, not your channel introduction.
- Anything it cannot know — links, timestamps, affiliate details — comes back in [square brackets] for you to fill in rather than invented.
- A few relevant hashtags at the end is normal. A wall of them is not.
Questions
How long should a YouTube description be?
Long enough to be useful. What matters is the first line or two, since that is all most people see before "more".
Will it write my timestamps?
No. It marks where they belong in square brackets, because it cannot know what happens when in your video.
Do descriptions affect search?
They give YouTube text to work with and they affect whether somebody clicks. They do not outweigh the thumbnail and title.
Can it read my existing video’s description?
No. It writes from what you tell it. Reading another video’s description would mean scraping YouTube, which we do not do.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser using your own device. Your file never leaves it, and we never see or store it. You can even disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.
