About Signature Resizer & Cleaner
A signature photographed on paper arrives grey, shadowed and far too large, while exam portals want it small, clean and inside a tight KB limit. This pushes the paper to white and the ink to black, so what survives is the stroke rather than the lighting in your room, then resizes to the dimensions the form asks for and compresses into your KB range.
Good to know
- Sign with a black or dark blue pen on unlined white paper. A ballpoint that skips will still skip after cleaning.
- Photograph straight down in daylight. A shadow across the page becomes a grey band that whitening cannot fully remove.
- Signature boxes are wide and short, 140x60 pixels being common, so crop close to the strokes first or your signature ends up tiny inside empty space.
Questions
My signature looks faint after cleaning. Why?
The ink was too light against the paper, so darkening the stroke also lifted it toward the background. Sign again with a thicker dark pen in brighter, even light.
Can I scan instead of photograph?
Yes, and a scan at 200 or 300 DPI is ideal because the lighting is even by definition. Save as JPG or PNG and the tool handles the rest.
Why does the form want a separate signature file?
Portals match the signature on your form against the one you write in the exam hall. That is also why you should upload the signature you actually use, not a neater version.
Will cleaning change the shape of my signature?
No. It only adjusts how light or dark each pixel is. Strokes are never moved, thinned or redrawn.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser using your own device. Your file never leaves it, and we never see or store it. You can even disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.
