About Sign PDF
Signing a document properly usually means printing it, signing, and scanning it back, three steps and a loss of quality each time. Placing a picture of your signature directly onto the page produces a clean signed PDF without any of that.
Good to know
- Use a signature with a transparent background, or the white box around it will cover the text underneath.
- The Signature tool sizes a photographed signature, and can whiten the paper behind it, which is what you want here.
- A pasted image signature is fine for most forms, but is not a legally certified digital signature.
Questions
How do I get a signature image?
Sign on white paper, photograph it, and clean it with the Signature Resizer tool.
Why is there a white box around my signature?
The image has a white background rather than a transparent one. Use a PNG with transparency.
Is this a legally valid signature?
It is an image of your signature, which many organisations accept. It is not a cryptographic digital signature, so check what your recipient requires.
Can I sign more than one page?
Place it on the page you need, one at a time.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser using your own device. Your file never leaves it, and we never see or store it. You can even disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no daily limit, no watermark on your files. The site is paid for by ads.
