About Round Image Corners
Rounded corners are the difference between a picture that looks pasted onto a page and one that looks designed into it. The corners are cut out properly and saved with transparency, so the result sits on any background colour without a white square around it.
Good to know
- The output is PNG, because the rounded corners need transparency that JPG cannot store.
- A larger radius on a small image can round away more than you intend. Preview before committing.
- For app icons and avatars, a radius of roughly a fifth of the width is a safe starting point.
Questions
Why is the file a PNG?
Transparent corners require an alpha channel, and JPG has none. Saving as JPG would fill them with white.
Can I round only some corners?
No, all four are rounded by the same amount.
Will it work on a photo of any shape?
Yes. The radius applies to each corner regardless of proportions.
Does the image get smaller?
The dimensions stay the same. Only the corner pixels become transparent.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser using your own device. Your file never leaves it, and we never see or store it. You can even disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no daily limit, no watermark on your files. The site is paid for by ads.
