About Remove Photo Metadata
Photos carry more than the picture. A phone typically records GPS coordinates, the exact time, the camera model and sometimes the owner name, all invisible until somebody looks. Before you post a photo publicly or send it to a stranger, stripping that metadata removes information you probably never meant to share.
Good to know
- GPS data in a holiday photo is a location; in a photo taken at home it is your address.
- Some sites strip metadata on upload and others do not. Assume they do not.
- The visible picture is completely unaffected. Only the hidden tags are removed.

The EXIF block, which holds GPS coordinates, date and time, camera make and model, exposure settings and any owner or copyright fields your device wrote.
Will the photo look different?
No. Only hidden data is dropped, so the image is pixel for pixel the same.
Does it remove a watermark drawn on the picture?
No. Anything visible is part of the image itself, not metadata.
Does the orientation tag go too?
Yes, which occasionally makes a photo appear rotated. Fix the rotation first with Rotate & Flip Image, then strip metadata.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
