PNG to JPG Free
Convert PNG pictures to JPG at their original size. JPG files are far smaller, which is what upload forms want. Transparency becomes white.
How to use it
- Choose one or more images, or drag them in.
- Set the options on the right. The result updates as you change them.
- Check the result, then press Download.
About PNG to JPG
This is the conversion people need most often, usually because a form refuses PNG or a PNG screenshot is simply too large to attach. JPG will shrink the file dramatically, at the cost of a single round of lossy compression and the loss of any transparency.
Good to know
- Transparent areas become white, since JPG has no way to record transparency.
- Screenshots of text suffer most, because JPG blurs exactly the sharp edges that make text readable.
- Photographs convert beautifully and often drop to a fraction of the original size.
Questions
What happens to my transparent background?
It is filled with white. If transparency matters, stay with PNG or use WEBP instead.
Why does my screenshot look fuzzy now?
JPG is tuned for photographs and smudges the hard edges of text. For screenshots, PNG or WEBP is the better choice.
How much smaller will the file be?
For a photograph, frequently five to ten times smaller. For a simple graphic the saving is much less.
Can I set an exact KB size?
Not here. Convert first, then use Compress Image to bring the JPG under a specific limit.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser using your own device. Your file never leaves it, and we never see or store it. You can even disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no daily limit, no watermark on your files. The site is paid for by ads.
