About Flip Image
Mirroring is a narrower job than rotating and comes up for specific reasons: a selfie where the writing on your shirt reads backwards, a scan fed in face down, or artwork that simply works better facing the other way. Flipping horizontally swaps left and right; vertically turns it upside down as a reflection.
Good to know
- A flipped photo shows any text in it backwards, which is exactly what you are usually fixing.
- Flipping is not rotating. A flipped page is a mirror image, not a turned one.
- The operation is lossless in itself; only saving as JPG re-encodes.

Why does my selfie look reversed?
Many phone cameras mirror the preview so it feels natural, then save it either way. A horizontal flip puts it back.
Flip or rotate, which do I need?
Flip if text appears backwards. Rotate if the picture is on its side.
Does flipping lose quality?
The flip itself does not move any detail. Saving as JPG re-encodes once, so use PNG to avoid even that.
Can I flip several images at once?
