About Exam Photo Resizer
Indian exam portals almost never ask for just "a photo". They ask for a JPEG of an exact pixel size, inside an exact KB range, and they reject the upload without explaining which rule you broke. This tool handles both at once: it resizes to the pixel dimensions you give, then tunes JPEG quality until the file lands inside your KB window. If the result comes out too small, it pads the JPEG comment block so the file still meets a minimum without altering a single pixel of the picture.
Good to know
- A minimum size is the part most tools ignore. SSC, IBPS and several state boards set one, and a clean photo often compresses well below it.
- Work from the largest original you have. Enlarging a small photo cannot add detail the camera never captured.
- If the portal also states a DPI, set the pixels here first, then run Change Image DPI. DPI does not change how an image looks, only what the file claims.
Questions
Why is my photo rejected even at the right KB?
Usually the pixel dimensions. A portal asking for 200x230 means exactly that, and a 200x300 photo of the right file size still fails. Set both here and the file satisfies both rules together.
What if my photo is under the minimum size?
The tool pads the file until it reaches the minimum. The padding sits in a JPEG comment segment, which every viewer and every upload checker ignores, so the image itself is untouched.
Can I use a photo taken on my phone?
Yes, and it is usually better than a scan. Stand against a plain light wall in even daylight, then crop to the proportions the form wants before resizing.
The form wants 200 DPI as well. What do I do?
Set the pixel size and KB range here first, then run Change Image DPI on the result. DPI is a label stored in the file and setting it does not disturb the size you just achieved.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
